美國的University of California, San Diego School of Medicine的 Razelle Kurzrock醫師在第十屆的『未來基因體醫學大會』(10th Future of Genomic Medicine Conference)上報告，有部分的病患接受免疫治療後，不但沒有效果，而且腫瘤有「爆炸性」的生長，目前懷疑跟MDM2基因可能有關，但目前台灣還沒有適當的檢測工具。這個現象和我參與的北榮治療團隊的經驗也相吻合，有些使用免疫治療的病患，反而讓癌症以十倍以上的速度惡化，這目前是無法預測的，所以現在坊間有些醫師不管適應症，在病患未使用治療指引建議的標準治療前，便哄騙病患直接接受自費免疫治療，可能是不恰當的。(引述網址如下，等到正式期刊發表，會把原文一併補上)
